Round Table Meeting, 7-9 October
Discussion “Fragile Memory: Cooperation in Times of Crises”
7 October 2026, 7-9 pm
This year’s Round Table Meeting is organised in cooperation with the German Dance Association and the International Theatre Institute Germany.
The meeting focuses on the topic “Working together” and will discuss topics such as:
- How do we cooperate with artists (on an international level)?
- How do we support artists in times of crisis? How do we cope as institutions in times of crisis?
- How do we foster cooperation (maybe unexpected ones) to deal with funding cuts in the arts, to deal with political pressure?
- How do we use digital means for archiving in cooperation (to exchange data, to research together, to visualize data together)?
- How do we document and archive in cooperation with others?
The meeting will be provided in a hybrid format (at place and online), distance access will be possible.
On the evening of October 7th, there will be a public discussion format, tackling the topic of the Round Table.
Fragile Memory: Cooperation in times of crises, 7 October, 7-9 pm
The essential role of archival and documentation practices for the arts seems undeniable, providing visibility for artistic expressions and understanding for lineages of cultural expressions. However, in times of financial cuts and political upheavals, archiving as practice in the arts becomes vulnerable.
In the public format “Fragile memory: Cooperation in times of crisis” we discuss ways of archiving performing arts nowadays. How can we find new ways of collaborative archiving strategies? How can institutions and artists work together with researchers and the public to keep the memory of the performing arts alive?
