Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN) is at the heart of the Dutch theatre world. We document, support, and promote Dutch theatre, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The TIN offers the largest theatre documentation centre in Europe, organizes debates and public exhibitions, promotes talents nationally and internationally, and promotes synchronizations between professionals within the Dutch theatre sector itself. In this way we strive to strenghten the position of theatre in society and contribute to a rich and inspiring theatre climate in the Netherlands.
TIN and its documentation centre are housed in a former bank building dating from the thirties. Its collection is stored in two acclimatized depots elsewhere in the city.
TIN is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Our organization is divided into: General and Operational Management, Program & Projects, Collection & Documentation, Information (including Education and New Media) and Marketing & Communication.
Currently around 2500 people have a TIN membership which allows them to lend books at the documentation centre and gives them priviliged acces to our exhibitions and activities.
