As a part of the Nordic-Baltic collaboration project keðja 2012–2015, Dance Info Finland organises two Think Tanks.

Think Tank 1: Sustainable strategies for the Nordic-Baltic dance field

What can sustainability mean in contemporary dance? How do we want to define sustainability? Inadequate funding schemes, short-term solutions, short-lived productions – how should the dance field be developed in a more sustainable manner?

The keðja Think Tank on sustainable strategies for the Nordic-Baltic dance field will address these key issues. From 2012-2014 creative policy-makers, leaders, arts professionals and artists will gather to define, discuss and debate. The overall aim is to provide concrete suggestions for more sustainable operational strategies within the Nordic and Baltic dance field.

Think Tank 2: Touring network for the Nordic-Baltic region

The Nordic and Baltic countries have different kinds of national touring activities for performing arts, but the area is lacking a joint touring network for dance, that would encompass the whole Nordic-Baltic region. The value and need of such a network has been discussed for a long time.

The goal of the keðja Touring Think Tank is to plan and build on a touring network for dance for the Nordic-Baltic region.

The Think Tank will meet several times during 2012–2014. During that time representatives of Nordic and Baltic venues and festivals will meet and work towards the above-mentioned goal.
