Irish Theatre Institute is a theatre resource organisation with a core staff of five. ITI operates from a 4 storey building in Temple Bar – Dublin’s cultural quarter. ITI exists to advance the interests of the theatre sector by providing information, support and advice services to established and emerging playwrights, theatre artists and companies. ITI works at a national and international level by coordinating and delivering research projects; and by initiating and presenting networking, promotion and showcase events.
ITI’s core research project is PLAYOGRAPHYIreland – the most extensive online searchable catalogue of new Irish plays in English and Irish. ITI has also designed and built a suite of complementary websites: www.irishtheatreinstitute.ie, www.irishtheatre.ie, www.irishplayography.com, and stageandscreendesignireland.ie. These databases are major resources for theatre practitioners worldwide and reflect ITI’s contribution to the online arts infrastructure.
